Why does evony lag

I like change, but not this one…. I feel exactly the same as mike said above. I miss the fact that my reports box popped up a new message to let me know when my troops have hit, and I really miss reading the battle reports to see exactly what happened, and what I plundered.. It is advertized as free to play but over time the condition and reliability of some of the servers such as SS60 have deteriorated to such a state of disarray that most people are forced to pay to freeze their account in "holiday" or just quit.

In the game people are charged food to support their army, also known as a upkeep. People gather their food initially through farming NPC cities for the resources. The biggest issue is the lag and this has been a problem for years. Important to get in a good alliance very early, will help with growth. Secondly this game is heavily weighted to the players that have and spend money regularly although, very accessible for free to play players - just pick your targets wisely. I've heard some crazy things in my time, but to say that you programmed in lag for people doing to much takes the cake.

Dawnseekers comment from this morning. If a player is running bots, it will cause them to lag as there are more commands going out over one connection than the server will handle. This is intentional. Remember that browser games are also a bit finicky. Sometimes a cookie or cache can get corrupted and its not anyone's fault. Our game is simply pushing browsers to their limit. The best thing to do if you're not able to connect or having issues with lag is to close all Evony windows and clear your cache, cookies and flash files.

This will force a fresh download of the game client and often resolves a variety of issues. I know we say this a lot but we find that many players still don't do it. Please try it! Of course, if someone is downloading something or running bots, none of this will help.
